What we store on your device, why, and how you control it. Three categories, granular consent, no advertising cookies.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. We also use related mechanisms (local storage, session storage, IndexedDB), and we cover all of these under "cookies" for the purposes of this policy.
2. Three categories
Salaaz uses cookies in three categories. The first runs unconditionally because the platform cannot work without it. The other two run only with your consent, which you can change at any time.
- Strictly necessary. Authentication, session continuity, cart contents, currency and language preference, cookie-consent record, and CSRF protection. These are set by us and by our authentication provider. They cannot be turned off without breaking the platform.
- Performance and analytics (opt-in). Aggregated usage metrics (which pages are read, which surfaces are slow, which paths users take) to help us improve. We use Mixpanel and Google Analytics 4 for this; both are configured to IP-anonymize where supported.
- Preferences (opt-in). Optional personalization signals beyond what the strictly-necessary cookies cover: for example, remembering filter choices across visits or noting that you have dismissed an editorial banner.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracker that shares your activity with ad networks. Salaaz does not run paid product placement, so the underlying commercial reason for ad-tech does not exist here.
3. How we ask for consent
On your first visit, you see a consent surface that lists the categories and lets you accept all, accept only strictly-necessary, or set each category individually. We remember your choice in a cookie of its own (otherwise we would have to ask every visit). You can change your choices at any time from Settings → Cookies, and the change takes effect immediately for future requests.

This list reflects the cookies in use as of the effective date above. We refresh it whenever a new cookie is added.
5. Browser-level controls
Independent of our consent surface, you can manage cookies at the browser level: block third-party cookies, clear specific cookies, or set "Do Not Track" / "Global Privacy Control" signals. We honor a valid Global Privacy Control header as an opt-out of opt-in categories. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and checkout from working.
6. Changes to this Policy
We update this Policy when the cookies we use change or when the law changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Substantive changes are announced on the consent surface so you can re-evaluate your choices.
